Coodham House, the Estate grounds and its lake have all been restored to create a wonderful environment for luxury, contemporary country living. Having fallen into ruin, this once fabulous mansion house is today restored to its former glory. The attention to detail is second to none; stonework, roof restoration, woodwork, plasterwork and marble flooring demonstrate the skills employed. Local craftsmen using the finest materials from home and abroad have worked with Turkish marble, African oak and West Coast quarried pink sandstone to recreate the exterior and construct its entirely new interior. Plasterwork in a style reminiscent of Adams and rarely in evidence today, features in the grand entrance hall, cupola and cornicing.
The grounds and gardens have enjoyed the same attention to detail and is today a horticultural delight presenting the rare spruce and bamboo in an environment that feature over 4km of walkways around the lake and through the woodlands to be enjoyed by residents for walking and relaxing.
The lake has been dredged, cleared and stocked with fish. Islands have been created and the lake and grounds now provide a stunning focal point and exceptional views attracting a variety of birds and wildlife.
